Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor on WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax response of the police to DUI incidents in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV.
